Winter
in the Dolomites

A unique spectacle in the world

Impossible to describe in words: winter in the Dolomites has to be experienced in person. The terraces of Pescosta Chalet directly overlook the Plan de Corones lifts, which can be reached in a few minutes on foot. This marks the start of the 119 km of local slopes, a true paradise for Alpine ski enthusiasts, which also reach the immense Dolomiti Superski area very close by with the three Dolomites, Alta Badia and Sellaronda.

For lovers of classic cross-country skiing or skating, the 24 km route that starts from San Vigilio strikes out into nature, offering snow-covered landscapes of immense beauty.

For those travelling as a family, the Fanes-Senes-Braies and Puez-Odle natural parks offer pure excitement for all ages, with perfect trails for sledding, walking in the wildest nature or enjoying a ride on a sled drawn by horses or dogs.

If snow for you means peace, silence and practice, get off the beaten track and enjoy the many routes designed for ski mountaineering or snowshoeing. You will be guided in your discovery of South Tyrol’s most enchanting hidden panoramas by an expert mountain guide and a carefully designed itinerary, which we at Pescosta Chalet will be happy to help you plan to make your holiday unique.

Spring and autumn
in South Tyrol

The triumph of colours

Expanses of bright green dotted with yellow and white flowers, the fresh air, clear sky and first warm sun of the season: spring in San Vigilio di Marebbe tickles the senses and explodes with vitality.
The temperatures are ideal for those who love to spend their days outdoors, walking in the woods or preparing picnics in the meadows, but also for spotting red deer and roe deer grazing the grass a few steps from the house or following cattle returning from the pasture.

Autumn also offers great delights for the eyes and the palate: the spectacle of the foliage fills the landscape with a thousand shades of yellow and invites you to venture among the trees in search of mushrooms, whose unmistakable scent fills the crisp air.
In the background are the sunsets that set the peaks of the Enrosadira on fire; in the foreground is the daily life of South Tyrol’s inhabitants, engaged in their oldest everyday activities: these are the moments that let you discover this area in depth and enjoy the peace and relaxation of the less crowded seasons.

And when rest gives way to the desire for worldly pleasures, the many events dedicated to seasonal food and drink (asparagus, South Tyrolean apples, Pustertal potatoes, chestnuts and exquisite local wines) and the festivals, concerts and shows that enliven the shoulder seasons in the Dolomites will fill your days with priceless emotions.

Pescosta Chalet is the starting point for countless opportunities for fun. We are here to introduce you to each one.
